Why Experience the Rule of Suffrage in 2010?
June 8, 2009The 2010 National Elections is even just around the corner. The filthy assailments of the members of the opposition against administration, and vice versa, are being viewed and manifested in the television, newspapers and in even in the internet. This totally prompts the society that the season of political commotion in this country is readily at hand.
This coming election is the first time that I am going to exercise my right to vote, the rule of suffrage, the right to choose my equitable leaders for this nation hopefully.
But sincerely, why do I need to vote? In this country where democratic supremacy should be pragmatically kept, does every Filipino understand why it is necessary to vote, or even know who are we going to mark in their ballot?
Yes, we are free to choose who we are going to put in front of us. The government placed the power of selection in the hands of the people. Yes we know that. But the question is why the government let Filipinos be uneducated on people that they are going to vote. Imagining that these politicians will instantly and automatically benefit from us when the time comes that they are going to have their office. Aba, sweldo ng bawat Pilipino ang kakainin nila noh. In every product that I am going to purchase, in every meal in food stores, in every oil in gasoline stations, and even before an employee gets his pay slip, lahat ng yan ang nagpapasweldo sa nakaupong mabait sa gobyerno.
This is the time that could some how augment the tremendous political predicament of our society. This is the force that pushed me to act. This country needs a mass transformation. Enough of the grubby reports against the government of this nation. Enough of the religious and political repression. Enough of the corruption society that this republic is giving to the world. I am totally tired of those stuffs.
Although rumors about the system could wipe out the hope and trust of everyone in this election, well, we can’t do anything on that. Just go out and vote. Wise voters are the hope of this country, I believe. The middle class should cast their ballot, or else all their sweat would just evaporate and mean nothing in this planet.
We can make it. We can make a complete revolution if and only if we are going to use our bukonuts.
